It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Cathedral Neighborhood as chess players of all ages gathered to test their skils at FEBFEST 2012.
14 players made up the Febfest field and while some players excelled and surpassed their hopes and goals, others fell short and were left wondering what happened, while others simply left.
The tournament was won by tournament newcomer Lokesh Argawal. Luke Argue captured the Top Junior Prize with a commendable score of 3/5. Nathan Fuller won the top Under 1400 Prize, while first time participant Corey Hall managed to win the prize for most pizza consumed at lunch!
The tounrament was marked by a mysterious 'time loss' that saw one player lose on time after only 6 minutes of play!? (Can you say Twilight Zone?) Every clock was thoroughly checked before the start of all following games - ya think??
Thanks to everyone who helped set up, clean up, and make the event a good time for all.
